Hey, I'm Elias. studio mktūb. is my creative studio, based in the Netherlands.

I make mixed media collages. Paper, found images, texture, color, all cut up and pieced back together by hand until it turns into something new. I'm also a photographer, and I create visual content for brands and people who want their stuff to feel a little different.

My collages come from whatever is moving me at the time. A musician, a fashion collection, an instrument, a color, a mood. If something sticks with me long enough, it ends up on paper.

It all started back when I was studying event management and marketing. Somewhere between planning and running events and writing campaigns, I got hooked on design: posters, flyers, logos. Never really looked back. Over time I pulled away from the screen and got back to working with my hands. Scissors, glue, paper, a printer and a camera always within reach.

No big plan. I collect, I layer, and I keep going until it feels right.

mktūb means "it is written." For me, it's a reminder that the work finds its own way, as long as I keep true to my soul, showing up and making it.

I've had the same motto for years: forever evolving, forever growing. That's what this studio is all about. A space to experiment, try new things, and see where the work wants to take me.
